About The Position

This position is based in Middletown, NY, offering a pay rate of $28.00 per hour. The working hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, totaling 40 hours per week. The role involves independently working with spreadsheets and databases, assisting in internal audit functions, year-end projections, and performing other duties as assigned. The candidate will be responsible for creating and designing useful spreadsheets and databases, performing accounts receivable tasks, cash/denial postings, and billing/follow-up on MCO insurance claims. Additionally, the role includes completing external audit work, assisting with internal audit functions, preparing journal entries, supporting corporate financial statement preparation, and ensuring financial statements balance appropriately.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to identify trends to effectively create solutions and streamline processes
  • Excellent computer skills, including expert knowledge of Excel, Word, and database software for file maintenance
  • Ceridian Dayforce experience preferred
  • Bilingual English and Spanish speaking is a plus
  • An Associates in Accounting or related field with 1 year of experience or Bachelor’s degree
  • Previous non-profit experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively, openly and honestly, with staff and leaders on a consistent basis
  • Create and design useful spreadsheets and databases independently
  • Perform A/R, cash/denial postings, and billing/follow up on MCO insurance claims
  • Complete external audit work as assigned and assist with internal audit functions
  • Prepare recurring and adjusting journal entries within areas of responsibility
  • Support corporate financial statement preparation and complete subsidiary financials
  • Ensure statements balance and revenues and expenses appear appropriate
  • Complete necessary financial ratios and assist with year-end projections
  • Use intermediate computer skills including knowledge of word processor, spreadsheet, and database software
  • Perform other duties as assigned
