About The Position

The Accountant position at the University of North Carolina Wilmington is responsible for essential accounting functions, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting. The role involves ensuring compliance with university policies and state and federal regulations, completing various accounting tasks, and collaborating on projects. The Accountant will also manage web content for the Controller's Office.

Requirements

• Master's degree with at least 1 year of experience or a Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite products.
• Experience with accounting ERP systems, preferably Banner Finance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a tax environment.
• Ability to interpret and analyze financial data.
• Experience with website content management and Adobe/DocuSign form creation.
