POSITION SUMMARY: Dubois Chemicals is a growing company with global operations and significant merger & acquisition activity. Our North America accounting team is looking for a new staff accountant to join our team! This individual’s responsibilities include maintaining financial records for our US operations, performing (and automating) account reconciliations, driving & improving monthly closing, and driving process improvement within the team. You will also be assisting the controller & CFO as needed with ad-hoc projects. Your ticket to the show is a strong grasp of accounting principles and organizational skills but what we’re really looking for is someone that is process oriented, enjoys fixing things and likes working with data. We’re looking for someone who is never satisfied with the status quo and enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You’ll have the ability to standardize & automate routine tasks using self-service analytics tools and help improve data visibility for our operations team. Requirements

  • 1-3 years of accounting experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • ERP system experience
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
  • Strong analytical skills & ability to work with large data sets
  • Good problem-solving and time management skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with BI/Analytics tools helpful but not required (e.g. Alteryx, DataIku, Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau, Qlik, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts
  • Preparing journal entries, analyses, and assisting with monthly close processes
  • Performing & automating monthly balance sheet & bank account reconciliations
  • In charge of reconciling Inventory and working with Supply Chain team to understand costs
  • Meeting processing and reporting deadlines
  • Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits
  • Ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Assisting the Controller and CFO as needed
  • Assisting with setting up ERP account structures
