About The Position

The Presidio Trust is seeking an Accountant to assist with the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department. The Presidio Trust is an innovative federal agency that stewards and shares the history, beauty, and wonder of the Presidio for everyone to enjoy forever. The ancestral homeland of the Ramaytush Ohlone, the Presidio was once a military post under three flags. Today, it is a surprising national park site spanning 1,500 acres at the Golden Gate. Its rare natural habits, inspiring views, and world-class trails are a local and global attraction. It is among the most biologically diverse parks in America and a popular destination with beaches, museums, restaurants, hotels, homes, and offices. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accountant compiles, maintains, and analyzes necessary financial records and data within various subledgers and contributes to the overall financial health of the Presidio Trust. This is a full-time position with benefits and a starting pay range of $82,916 to $102,296, for candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area, dependent on the experience and qualifications of the candidate. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from (4) four-year college or university in Accounting, Finance or Business, with at least 24 semester hours in accounting and related fields; OR CPA/CIA license; AND
  • Minimum of (3) three years related experience in financial accounting.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write documents that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information in a professional manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong Excel and Oracle Financials ERP system knowledge desired.
  • Knowledge of federal budgetary accounting.
  • A passion for the mission and values of the Presidio Trust.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile subledger activities to ensure accurate and timely recordation of summary level entries in the Trusts general ledger.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and review financial reports to identify and explain variances on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Prepare journal entries and assist in the monthly close as needed.
  • Assist various departments with accounting issues and queries and provide analysis and information as requested by management.
  • Participate in internal (internal control) and external (financial) audits and provide timely audit information.
  • Adhere to standard accounting principles and Trust procedures.
  • Ensure subledgers are maintained accurately.
  • Perform work with strict adherence to monthly, quarterly, and yearly deadlines.
  • Work with management to improve efficiency and quality of processes for long term goals.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service with internal stakeholders, customers, vendors, other agencies, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
