About The Position

This position will collaborate closely with the Accounting Supervisor and team, as well as the Controller and Assistant Controller, to perform a variety of duties to support the accounting functions. Examples of responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analyzing and reporting upon operating results; complying with operating policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements; assisting in the compilation, organization, and delivery of items to auditors; communicating and interfacing within the Finance and Accounting departments as well as internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • An associate’s degree in accounting, or related field required, specialized bank finance education and training preferred.
  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience in related positions or banking, in general, preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail;
  • Proficiency with a PC and associated programs (such as Microsoft Office);
  • General knowledge of accounting principles and procedures;
  • Familiarity with financial statement analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains accurate accounting records.
  • Accounts Payable duties including processing invoices, preparing reports, and completing payments to ensure adherence to control structure.
  • Reviews various documents, transactions, and worksheets relating to the accounting process; makes required general ledger entries.
  • Calculates accruals and prepares various statements and account summaries.
  • Monitors accounts, checks, entries, and transactions; reports significant discrepancies to supervisor/controller.
  • Prepares periodic (daily/weekly/monthly) reconcilements of balance sheet accounts.
  • Assists colleagues in identifying reconciling differences/processing errors.
  • Maintains capitalized assets and prepaids in the accounting software.
