Accountant
About The Position
We’re looking for a hands-on Accountant to lead and strengthen our accounting operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you’ll partner with the Controller to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the organization. You’ll oversee daily accounting activities, manage AR/AP and reconciliations, and provide timely, reliable reporting. Beyond the numbers, you’ll guide a talented team, support audits, budgeting, and forecasting, and drive process improvements that align with ISO 9001 standards. This is a hands-on leadership role where your expertise and attention to detail will directly impact financial integrity and operational success.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance preferred (Associate's with solid experience accepted)
- 3+ years progressive accounting experience
- Profieciency in SAGE 100 preferred
- Strong knowledge of accounting transactions and the ability to follow, analyze, and troubleshoot transactions through an ERP system from source to financial reporting
- Strong understanding of GAAP, sales/use tax compliance and month-end close processes
- Self-starter with a positive attitude and ability to multi-task
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management, analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and discretion
Responsibilities
- Lead daily accounting operations: AP, AR, cash receipts, credit card transactions, general ledger entries and expense management
- Manage monthly closings, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Oversee inventory accounting, standard costing, and throughput margin
- File multi-state sales and use tax returns; maintain compliance documentation
- Maintain training materials and department matrix
- Handle escalated customer/vendor issues with professionalism
- Collaborate with external accountants for audits and year-end closings
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, GAAP, and ISO 9001 standards
- Drive process improvements and assist with special projects
