About The Position

The Accountant provides critical support to the Controller by performing general ledger activities, financial reporting, audits, budgeting, and special projects. This role also supports the Finance team with accounts receivable (A/R) and accounts payable (A/P) functions. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, thorough, ethical, and professional in all interactions with colleagues, vendors, and external partners. This is a full-time (40 hours per week), exempt position.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; equivalent financial experience may be considered.
Proven experience in general ledger accounting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
Advanced accuracy and attention to detail in financial calculations.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across all organizational levels.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and other Office applications.
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive financial information responsibly and ethically

Nice To Haves

Agricultural accounting experience preferred.
Proficiency with accounting software (Cultura are a plus).

Responsibilities

Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
Process work orders, inventories, and grower settlements.
Perform accurate data entry and financial analysis.
Draft monthly reports for departmental and leadership review.
Provide accounting information and assistance to other departments as needed.
Support other accounting staff as required.
Maintain and update the chart of accounts.
Assist in the preparation of quarterly and year-end financial statements and reports.
Assist with the annual budgeting process.
Support audit preparation and participation as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Controller or management.
