Caterpillar Marine Division has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant. This position will offer you the opportunity to provide financial planning, analysis, and reporting support to a fast-paced, innovative, and growing organization. This role will encourage you to demonstrate and develop your communication, presentation, and financial analysis skills, along with providing avenues to interact regularly with senior management within Caterpillar Oil & Gas and Marine Division and other cross functional groups within the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent, and 6+ years of experience
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail : Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Analytical Thinking : Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Accounting : Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.
  • Financial Reporting : Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.
  • Decision Making: making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

  • PowerBI experience
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis experience

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the business, through providing meaningful and timely insights & analysis, to understand results and drive improved financial performance
  • Create and utilize automated tools for the updating, analyzing and reporting of consolidated financial results
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for the Caterpillar Marine business
  • Drive standardization, simplification and efficiencies in finance processes
  • Coordinate reporting and analysis of non-financial metrics
  • Champion a strong internal control environment, including maintenance of Sox documentation
  • Support ongoing Global Financial Initiatives such as implementation of OneStream, Strategy Dashboards and other ongoing projects.
