Position Summary The Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, compliance with accounting standards, and timely reporting. This role includes preparing financial statements, managing budgets, handling account payable and receivable, and ensuring that all financial records are maintained according to legal and regulatory requirements. The Accountant will work closely with management to provide insights into financial performance and support strategic decision-making, all while upholding the highest standards of accuracy and integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or a related field
  • Demonstrated general accounting procedures or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to use accounting software
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
  • Belief in the mission and vision of Rosecrance

Responsibilities

  • Work hours prescribed by leadership and any additional hours deemed necessary for the responsibilities assigned.
  • Prepare, post and upload journal entries, reconcile accounts, and calculate accrued expenses for month-end closing.
  • Review, approve and ensure journal entries are accurate, appropriate, and comply with GAAP.
  • Process daily or weekly deposits, verify bank receipts, and reconcile cash receipts to cash journal postings. Maintain check registers and complete monthly bank reconciliations, including conducting petty cash audits.
  • Prepare monthly fee-for-service and grant utilization reports, reconcile these reports to revenue accounts, and analyze trends or issues and offering feedback for process improvements.
  • Prepare audit schedules as assigned, and review and approve these schedules.
  • Lead or participate in projects such as new business lines, technology implementations, and staff training on new procedures.
  • Provide backup support for team members as needed, and actively participate in department meetings and activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Code of Ethics and legal requirements.
  • Provide exceptional customer service consistently to all customers.
  • Serve as a role model for staff, clients, and customers, demonstrating positive relations on behalf of Rosecrance.
  • Assume other related responsibilities as delegated by leadership.
