Our holistic, evidence-based model offers a wide range of services - therapy, case management, yoga, behavioral health and substance use recovery groups, spiritual care, life skills, medical care, education, and job readiness. Each participant is formally supported by our Care Team for a full year, ensuring stability and long-term success. Now operating in Missouri, South Carolina, and Virginia, Concordance is a national leader in compassionate, innovative reentry care. Position Overview: As an accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting and finances of Concordance. This role plays a crucial part in safeguarding the assets of the firm as we scale our operations across the nation.

Requirements

  • Passion for our mission
  • Strong financial and accounting acumen, including understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and nonprofit financial management
  • Skill in financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and using data to drive decision-making
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  • 5-7+ years of experience in related finance or accounting roles
  • Demonstrates proficiency in QuickBooks and banking platform systems
  • Sit, stand, and walk for a considerable amount of time throughout the day.
  • Occasionally, help set up for events or move rooms around, including but not limited to carrying and setting up tables and chairs

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting and financial operational functions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and complete general ledger records.
  • Process all incoming and outgoing payments.
  • Manage biweekly payroll processing.
  • Manage employee expense reimbursements and ensure all requests comply with established approval processes.
  • Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements for leadership, auditors, and stakeholders.
  • Partner with the Development department to manage pledge payments, support grant applications, and produce accurate financial reporting.
  • Partner with the AVP of Finance & Business Operations, AR/AP Specialist, and the Facilities team to create and manage the annual organizational budget
  • Work closely with the AR/AP Specialist to support day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Provide senior leadership with timely and insightful updates on the organization’s financial status, trends, and progress toward goals.
  • Manage the external audit process.
  • Oversee all required regulatory reporting.
