The Accountant position involves assisting with monthly and year-end accounting close, including the preparation of financial statements. Key responsibilities include preparing weekly and monthly journal entries (prepaids and accruals), maintaining an accurate audit trail, posting sales with reconciliation of various transactions (dining, bar, delivery, events, catering), and daily payments reconciliation by reviewing cash and accounts receivable activity. The role also requires maintaining detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts, reviewing and auditing the coding accuracy of A/P invoices, assisting with accounting department file maintenance, verifying accounts through regular statement and transaction reconciliation, and completing daily accounting and finance tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Excellent understanding of all components of accounting including systems, databases and metrics
  • Ability to be proactive, independent, efficient, and resourceful in a hands-on fluid environment
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • You majored in accounting or finance, or you have 1-2 years of accounts payable/ accounting experience
  • You have excellent Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables and V-lookups)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Monthly and Year-end accounting close, including preparation of financial statements.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly journal entries, including prepaids and accruals.
  • Maintain accurate and organized audit trail.
  • Sales posting with reconciliation of dining, bar, delivery, events and catering transactions
  • Daily payments reconciliation by reviewing cash, accounts receivable and other account activity.
  • Maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
  • Review and audit coding accuracy of A/P invoices.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate files for accounting department.
  • Verify accounts by reconciling statements and transactions on a regular basis.
  • Complete daily accounting and finance tasks as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned
