About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Accountant for the Controller’s Office. The Accountant supports the Controller’s Office by performing daily banking activities including communicating with campus departments to ensure incoming funds are posted appropriately, recording ACH transactions in the University’s financial accounting system, and processing outgoing wires. Other duties include, but are not limited to: providing assistance and information for the University’s financial accounting system to campus users ; prepar ing journal vouchers as needed ; preparing and/or reviewing reconciliation of various accounts; analyzing account activity and transactions for the Controller's Office and/or campus departments; using specialized software (Excel and others); recording annual receivables for financial statement purposes , annually reconciling state appropriations , analyzing information and prepar ing special reports as needed ; preparing annual, monthly, and quarterly reports as requested by university administration and/or the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE); and other duties as assigned by the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of related work experience, OR Master’s Degree and one (1) year of related work experience.
  • Related Experience: In Accounting.
