About The Position

The Accountant is responsible for performing general accounting duties with an emphasis in job cost accounting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 0-5 years experience
• Knowledge of general financial accounting.
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well with others and follow supervisory instructions in a corporate environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
• Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department including data and journal entries.
• Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
• Reconciles customer accounts.
• Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
• Performs other related duties as assigned including filing, scanning and record keeping.
• Administrator of the following duties; credit applications, contracts, performance and payment bonds, certificate of insurances, licenses.
