About The Position
We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will focus on accurate financial reporting, compliance, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and well-versed in SSAP, with a strong background in financial accounting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of accounting experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of NAIC reporting, SSAP, and other financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, or similar).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- A Self-driven and proactive individual who takes ownership of their work.
Nice To Haves
- CPA or other relevant certification is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Conduct month-end and year-end closing processes, reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with SSAP.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and insights, providing recommendations to management.
- Prepare and organize NAIC filings to meet each state’s regulatory requirements.
- Preparation of tax documentation and compliance with state and federal tax regulations.
- Collaborate with external auditors and support the audit process, providing necessary documentations, responses, and explanations.
