Responsible for accurate and timely entry, reconciliation, and analysis of financial data and reporting to management and stakeholders. This person must possess great attention to detail, meticulous organization skills, strong financial acumen, high aptitude for technology and financial systems and a strong desire and ability to work within a dynamic, fast-paced environment with the expectations of the role consistently growing and expanding.

Requirements

B.S. in Computer Science, Business or Related Field
2-3 years’ experience in indirect tax.
Strong SQL and Python experience.
Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Excellent Analytical and Problem-Solving skills.
Ability to utilize critical thinking/analytical skills to solve complex tax issues.
Organizational skills to be timely and keep files complete and organized.
Communicate professionally.
Able to multi-task and prioritize work.
Pivot on assignments as necessary due to deadlines.

Nice To Haves

SAP and Vertex experience are a plus.
CCH or TTR experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Reconcile tax accounts
Pull compliance data for sales and use, personal property tax and send to 3rd party
File sales and use tax returns and registrations as needed
Maintain and process customer exemption certificates and refund requests
Transaction tax audit defense
Identify issues in current data and processes and lead the team to implement changes.
Assist with IT projects to upgrade software and maintain monthly updates to tax as required.
Prepare and support transaction tax refund claims: amend returns, file refund claims with state, and reconcile sales data as applicable.
Communicate with peers and other departments as needed
Assisting with various projects as assigned
