We’re looking for an Accountant to join our team supporting Research and Engineering as part of our Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) at Caterpillar. As the R&E Accountant, you will be responsible for providing month-end support, analysis of results and back-up support for COE during ABP cycle. This position will also provide support for our engineering teams, maintain our local R&E reporting tool and enhance our Power BI reporting.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.

Responsibilities

Provide R&E support to engineering teams with regards to results, forecasting and tool support.
Assist with R&E tool maintenance, enhancements and reporting.
Provide insights into financial R&E results on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
Support monthly R&E rolling forecasts.
Implement new reporting and analytics to continuously improve business partnering as well as accurate reporting.
Complete and assist with ad hoc reporting and analysis requests, including tax surveys.
Assist with annual PAC2 Freezes, Grief and Job Set Up as back up to COE during ABP Cycle
