About The Position

Nucor Steel Kankakee, Inc. is seeking an Accountant to join our team in Bourbonnais, IL. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. The Accountant will be responsible for various accounting functions, including general ledger accounting, corporate, tax, and divisional reporting, assisting in the internal and external audit processes, and maintaining and continuously improving internal controls. The role also involves working closely with all departments to analyze and evaluate departmental costs and drive continuous improvement across all aspects of the business.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• 5+ years accounting related experience

Nice To Haves

• MBA, CPA or CMA
• 3+ years cost accounting experience

Responsibilities

• General ledger accounting
