About The Position
Chek Tan & Company, LLP is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Richmond. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of accounting duties, including general accounting, account write-up, bookkeeping, and payroll calculation and processing. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and will involve preparing financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis. Additionally, the Accountant will handle income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, individuals, and gifts, as well as other tax reporting responsibilities such as sales tax, payroll tax, and property tax. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence. We value responsibility, diligence, carefulness, and efficiency in our team members. The Accountant will work closely with other team members to ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner. This position offers an opportunity to grow within the company and develop professionally in the field of accounting. Candidates should possess a 4-year college degree in Accounting or a related field. While experience is not required, it is considered a plus. Certification as a CPA is also not required but is advantageous. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, as well as Microsoft Excel and Word, is essential. Knowledge of additional tax software is a plus. Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in Chinese is an added benefit that will enhance communication with our diverse clientele.
