Arizona Spine and Joint Hospital is seeking a full time Accountant to join our business office team. Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Accountant is responsible for: Assuring that clerical duties are accurately performed in completion of, but not limited to, the following areas: entering journal entries; reconciling income statement general ledger accounts, reconciling cash accounts, as well as balance sheet accounts; completing statistical analysis reports; organizing and maintaining all files pertaining to payments per contractual obligations; assisting with all financial audits. Must be able to solve problems by working with vendors. Prepare annual 1099s, as well as other required federal tax forms. Assist with preparing data for miscellaneous reports such as Medicare Cost Report, Uniform Accounting Report, Medicare Wage Index, etc. Assists with preparing and calculating data for both the facility budget, as well as departmental budgets. Ensures capital expenditures are identified and processed correctly. Identifies items for payment of Arizona State Sales and Use Tax and completes appropriate tax forms in a timely manner. Assists with the bank deposit as needed. Assists CFO with cost analysis, monthly accruals and special studies as needed. Assist with opening and distributing mail as needed. Cross-train and assist with accounts payable as needed.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 3-5 years of hospital accounting experience preferred
  • Demonstrated eligibility for employment in the United States
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with others
  • Demonstrated computer skills in utilizing word processing, integrated database and other functions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of finance, accounting, and the expense cycle
  • Prior experience in accounting and general ledger proficiency necessary
