About The Position

Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC, headquartered in Dallas, is a regulated electricity transmission and distribution business that uses superior asset management skills to provide reliable electricity delivery to consumers. As an Accounting Specialist at Oncor, you'll act as a liaison coordinating with financial planning and field associates' users supporting financial applications inquiries. As such, this role requires the ability to interpret and communicate the requirements and constraints for both groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Finance & Accounting
  • Working knowledge of financial applications
  • Intermediate knowledge of system query language (SQL)
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Sound decision-making capabilities
  • Advanced knowledge and experience utilizing techniques for business process analysis
  • Flexibility/ability to work in a changing environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize own work
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and support financial applications and sub-ledger processes.
  • Understand process flows to manage batch processing and jobs and recovery.
  • Support allocation processes and loadings.
  • Complete work within Sarbanes Oxley Compliance (SOX) control compliance, General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and Key accounting controls.
  • Support Company Accounting Policies and Procedures.
  • Support financial close processes.
  • Provide rate case support as needed.
  • Perform troubleshooting activities, provide training, assistance and support for end users for all financial applications.
  • Interface with cross-functional personnel to identify, resolve and report financial application processing issues.
  • Understand PeopleSoft setups for each module to assist outsourced and internal service.
  • Participate in financial application upgrades and enhancements.
