About The Position

The Accountant role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and clear visibility into real estate lease costs. The position plays a key role in helping the organization manage lease obligations strategically and efficiently. The Accountant will oversee the accounting, compliance, and reporting for the organization’s real estate lease portfolio, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely reporting.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required; CPA or equivalent is a plus.
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in Accounting and/or 2+ public accounting experience.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and meet challenging deadlines while simultaneously prioritizing projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
  • Familiar with laws, regulations and guidelines governing personnel administration.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Lease or Real Estate Accounting is preferred but not required.
  • Experience within the healthcare industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Performs month-end close, including journal entries, accruals and balance sheet analysis in accordance with ASC 84.
  • Analyzes new lease contracts to determine if they are operating or finance leases based on specific criteria.
  • Prepares complex quantitative and qualitative disclosures required for quarterly and annual filings, such as maturity analysis tables and weighted average lease terms.
  • Provides budget-to-actual variance analysis and financial insights.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual GAAP-compliant financial statements.
  • Prepares schedules and serves as the primary contact for internal/external audits.
  • Assists with ad-hoc analysis and special projects.
  • Plans, organizes, develops, implements, and evaluates programs, goals, policies, and procedures to support quality care and maintain efficient, effective operations.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines related to personnel administration.
  • Supports additional tasks and special ad hoc projects as assigned by the director of this position.
