About The Position

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accountant - New Clients is responsible for the initial onboarding of a client’s account including beginning balance roll forward, general ledger and bank reconciliation, payroll integration, preparation of a balance sheet & income statement for a growing CPA firm specializing in financial planning to national clientele.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in accounting field required
• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution preferred
• Multi-client CPA firm experience preferred
• QuickBooks and Xero software experience preferred
• Proficient in both Microsoft Word and Excel
• Act as a team player and demonstrate a positive attitude

Responsibilities

• Initial onboarding of a client’s account to include general ledger beginning balances.
• Work independently on monthly and quarterly compilations including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts; assess general ledger for accuracy.
• Prepare after the fact payroll summaries and record journal entries.
• Record journal entries to reconcile balance sheet accounts to supporting documents.
• Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations in the preparation of year end Forms 1096 & 1099.
• Work independently with clients as needed to facilitate completion of financial statements.
