About The Position

Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations. We are seeking an analytical, creative, and forward-thinking Accountant to join our team and will report into the Controller office. This position will support initiatives to improve the quality and efficiency of our financial close and reporting processes. In this hands-on position, you will analyze accounting workstreams, recommend improvements and/or implement tools that will drive efficiencies, improve internal controls, and influence decisions that impact the accounting organization. This position is charged with meeting company and departmental goals while focusing on compliance with company and departmental policies and procedures. You will engage with a high performing team to perform root cause analysis and drive remediation efforts while engaging across various business stakeholders. We are looking for someone to apply their accounting expertise and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting background and/or business advisory background.
  • Proficient in technology, including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to communicate accounting concepts to all levels of management and peers.
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities and proactive approach.
  • Skilled in prioritizing tasks with a heightened sense of urgency.
  • Self-starter who completes projects and has a passion for continual improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or CPA
  • Business Intelligence interfaces (Cognos, Tableau, etc.), with strong data mining and excel workpaper building abilities.
