About The Position

TalentFish is casting a line for an Accountant III. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with a leading health system in Great Falls, MT. Remote or hybrid candidates will be considered, provided they can work on-site for the first 2–3 weeks to get oriented with the team. This position exists to plan, coordinate, organize, and implement key financial functions for a large regional health system and its entities. The Accountant III plays a lead role in the annual audit, annual budget, and required tax filings, serves as an internal consultant on accounting issues, and frequently reviews the work of other Accountants. The role requires strong independent judgment, operational expertise across Workday Financial modules, and the ability to maintain important external relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting + 4 years of staff accounting experience with bookkeeping and Workday at an organization of comparable size, OR Master's degree in Finance or Accounting + 2 years of equivalent experience
  • Hands-on experience with Workday Financials, Workday GL, Workday Cash, Workday Fixed Assets, and Workday Treasury (required)
  • Strong knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, and appropriate treatment of complex accounting issues
  • Proven ability to lead projects and serve as an internal consultant across financial functions
  • Experience supporting annual audits, budgets, and tax filings
  • Ability to review and provide guidance on the work of other accountants
  • Strong independent judgment and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-changing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage external relationships and handle conflict effectively
  • This role requires authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, organize, and implement key financial functions for the health system and its entities
  • Research accounting rules and regulations and make recommendations on appropriate accounting treatment
  • Take a lead role in the annual audit, annual budget preparation, and required tax filings
  • Serve as an internal consultant on accounting projects and issues as appropriate
  • Review the work of other Accountants and provide feedback and guidance
  • Maintain important external relationships required for effective financial operations
  • Apply independent judgment and expertise to accomplish departmental and organizational goals
  • Handle pressure to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy across constantly changing situations
  • Perform all assigned job duties and adhere to all applicable licensing board and agency regulations
  • Comply with all organizational policies and procedures
