About The Position

The Accountant III position at Bunker Hill Community College is responsible for supporting accounting functions within the Grants division. Requirements

• Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time professional experience in accounting or auditing preferably in a grant-funded environment.
• Experience working in a higher education or nonprofit environment.
• Experience using student information systems, preferred Ellucian Colleague.
• Ability to think critically and problem-solve.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Excellent project management, organization and time management skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student population.

Nice To Haves

• Associate or bachelor's degree in business, Accounting, or closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Administer general ledger grant accounts, including creation of new grants and maintenance of incumbent ones.
• Ensure that all information is accurate and complete in grants and make GL adjustments as necessary, such as expense transfers and overheads.
• Monitor revenues and expenses for multiple grants.
• Payroll and fringe recording and related adjustments.
• Reconciliation with state records and appropriations.
• Compile assigned audit schedules and other supporting schedules.
• Troubleshoot errors and questionable items as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Benefits

• Full-time benefited position with a salary of $2,306.19 biweekly/$59,960.94 annual.
