We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team and support our cash management function and related general ledger accounting and account reconciliations The ideal candidate will have experience with preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and have some working knowledge of banking/cash management processes (e.g., ,processing wires, account transfers, maintaining a cash forecast). A strong detail orientation, aptitude for analysis, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams are important in this role. This role plays a critical part in ensuring proper management of cash, maintaining banking relationships, and supporting the complete and accurate accounting for key general ledger accounts. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CMA or other certification not required but will be taken into consideration.
  • 2-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, including performance of journal entries and account reconciliation. Preference for candidates with experience in cash-related areas.
  • Enthusiastic attitude and strong “TEAM” orientation and ability to work collaboratively, as well as the ability to work independently and self-directed.
  • General knowledge of GAAP, key accounting principles and Internal Control, with an aptitude for continuous development.
  • Professional demeanor with commensurate written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information with a wide variety of audiences.
  • High level MS Excel skills as well as proficiency with financial systems and software (e.g., Adaptive, Trovata, Blackline, Epicor).
  • High level of integrity and commitment to upholding ethical standards.
  • Adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a dynamic organization, with potential for growth.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries as needed related to cash management, investments, debt, derivatives, key accruals and other areas as assigned, maintaining related schedules and support as appropriate and in accordance with policy, procedure and good internal control practices.
  • Prepare and submit required bank wires, transfers and other payments in accordance with policy and procedure and appropriate internal controls
  • Record and classify banking activity to support daily/weekly/monthly bank balance monitoring and maintain cash forecast model.
  • Maintain documentation related to letters of credit, debt schedules, banking relationships, bank accounts, and other key items related to areas of responsibility.
  • Execute month-end and year-end close tasks as assigned, including journal entry preparation, reconciliation assignments, and cash recording.
  • Support compliance with regulatory requirements and stay abreast of changes to US accounting standards related to areas of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with other functional areas and departments to provide timely and accurate financial information and transaction support.
  • Support the accounting team in day-to-day activities, special projects, and process improvements.
  • Prepare and provide requested documentation to external auditors and support other audit requests.
  • Monitor and assess areas of responsibility for opportunities to improve, with a continuous improvement, ‘lean’ mindset
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
