About The Position

We are seeking an Account II to join our team at Independent Living Systems (ILS). ILS, along with its affiliated health plans known as Florida Community Care and Florida Complete Care, is committed to promoting a higher quality of life and maximizing independence for all vulnerable populations. About the Role: The Accountant II plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the organization's financial records. This position is responsible for managing complex accounting tasks, including the preparation and analysis of financial statements, reconciliations, and month-end close activities. The Accountant II collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can identify discrepancies, implement process improvements, and contribute to the overall financial health of the company. Ultimately, the Accountant II helps provide reliable financial information that supports strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification or progress toward CPA licensure.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
  • Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Previous experience in a corporate accounting environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation of supporting schedules and documentation.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial information and resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Support audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, GAAP, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
