About The Position

The Accountant II is an experienced accounting professional responsible for independently performing journal entries, account reconciliations, and key components of the month-end close process. This role applies sound judgment to ensure accurate financial records, works with minimal supervision, supports the independent financial statement audit process, prepares reports, and supports process improvements. The position requires strong attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and the ability to work within established accounting procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 2 years of accounting experience
  • Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
  • Valid Driver's license in state of residency with acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and submit to the company random drug and alcohol program
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications specifically Excel, 10 key, and Google Workspace

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly account reconciliations, exercise judgment to identify, research, and resolve reconciling items
  • Independently prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy, proper classification, and adequate supporting documentation
  • Evaluate selected transactions for accuracy and proper account coding
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Responsible for monthly bank account reconciliations, addressing inquiries from banks
  • Support year-end financial statement audit and internal review requests by preparing reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Payroll, and other departments to resolve accounting issues
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
