About The Position

American Wood Fibers (AWF) is a leading manufacturer of consumer and industrial wood-fiber products serving retail, pet, agricultural, and industrial markets throughout North America. With more than 380 employees and operations across multiple states, AWF generates over $100M in annual revenue. We are currently seeking a candidate for the Accountant II role at our Schofield,WI facility or our Pella, IA facility. This position reports to the CFO/Vice President of Finance and supports multi-site accounting operations and financial reporting.

The Accountant II performs professional-level accounting work requiring independent judgment, technical knowledge, and analytical ability. This role supports financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance, and operational analysis while assisting accounting leadership and site teams.

Nice To Haves

• Manufacturing or multi-entity experience preferred.
• CPA or progress toward certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare account reconciliations, financial reports, and analyses.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Review financial results and identify variances.
• Research and resolve discrepancies.
• Support plant accounting teams with guidance.
• Assist with audits.
• Help monitor cash activity and collections.
• Provide backup support for payroll.
• Participate in special projects.
• Assist with process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Collaborate cross-functionally.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
