About The Position

The Accountant II - Close & Consolidations Systems is responsible for maintenance of the chart of accounts for general ledger reporting and participating in various other strategic and tactical initiatives. This team member will assist in the assessment of new initiatives, which include the implementation of new or updated processes and/or systems and determines the associated impact to the C&C/Accounting department. In this role you will:

Requirements

  • Understand software development processes
  • Experience applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Knowledge of financial controls and account reconciliations
  • Analytical thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a focus on driving continuous improvement
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively prioritize competing deliverables
  • Meticulous, results-driven professional with strong people skills, and business acumen
  • Intermediate skills in creating ad hoc queries and reporting
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 2+ years’ experience in public or general accounting, preferably with a financial services background

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Oracle preferred
  • Background with automated financial accounting and reporting systems
  • Background with accounting processes that support financial accounting and reporting

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the global chart of accounts in various systems (general ledger and/or treasury management system)
  • Participate in special projects such as Oracle ERP implementation and new accounting and reporting standards implementation
  • Utilize knowledge of finance and accounting processes to maintain accounting controls and compliance frameworks to mitigate risks of financial statement error and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting
  • Participate in meetings with different teams throughout the organization to develop a solid understanding of upcoming and ongoing projects and the associated impact to the department
  • Monitor and resolve system issues
  • Support internal management reporting, SEC reporting and quarterly/ year-end audits
