About The Position

This position is responsible for the analysis of inventory transactions/adjustments and resolution of issues, working cross-functionally and across multiple systems for root cause analysis and remediation; for the preparation of inventory account reconciliations; for the preparation of month-end close journal entries and related duties; internal and external audit support; and special projects and other responsibilities as needed. This position is hybrid working 3 days a week in our Support Center in Plano, TX, (Legacy West) “At Sally Beauty Holdings, we find beauty in diversity. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Accounting or related field, preferred
  • Accounting experience resulting in the ability to understand inventory process flows and impact on the general ledger
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Previous experience in month-end close processes
  • Experience within a Sarbanes-Oxley environment desired
  • Working knowledge of and experience with SQL highly desirable
  • Some travel may be required, up to 5%
  • Detail oriented, self-starter, customer focused
  • Demonstrates logical analysis, issue identification and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task and remain organized, and to work independently
  • Intellectually curious and seeks to always understand “why”
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively and drive results when working with cross-functional groups

Responsibilities

  • Track, analyze and monitor inventory activity, transactions and adjustments. Identify unusual adjustments, escalate and pursue resolution, working with different departments and functions.
  • Take the initiative to propose corrections, track and document all issues, and play a key role in driving root cause analysis and ultimate resolution.
  • Month-end close responsibilities, including pre- and post-close tasks: journal entry preparation, report generation, and other duties as assigned.
  • Preparation of account reconciliations according to company and departmental policy.
  • Provide information to internal and external auditors.
  • Provide assistance in special projects and management requests as needed.
