About The Position

About the team: The local Finance team at MRM currently consists of two members: Miguel Reimy, Accounting Supervisor, and Lauri de Freitas, Controller of the entity with additional responsibility as the Div-I North America Finance Liaison. The open position will report directly to Miguel Reimy and will be based in Miramar under a hybrid work structure. The local Finance team works closely with the Shared Service Center in Monterrey as well as the Northville office. What you can look forward to as an Accountant I: Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) processes, including invoicing, collections, and vendor payments. Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely collections. Reconcile AR/AP sub-ledgers with the general ledger and review customer credit for order releases. Handle intercompany accounting, including recording, reconciling transactions, and ensuring compliance with transfer pricing policies. Support month-end and year-end closing, prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports. Assist with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) by building actuals-to-plan bridges, analyzing P&L variances, and preparing dashboards. Perform revenue recognition checks, bank reconciliations, and provide documentation for audits. Partner with the Controller to identify process improvements and support profitability analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 2–4 years of accounting experience, including AR, AP, and general ledger exposure
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and core accounting principles
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint skills with excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Power BI or similar Business Intelligence tools a plus
  • Experience in a multinational or shared services environment preferred
