About The Position

We are currently seeking a Accountant I with 1-3 years of experience to be part of Streamline Technologies in our Winter Springs, FL office. We seek a reliable and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Business Operations Team. The successful candidate will support the organization’s financial operations by handling core bookkeeping responsibilities and assisting with accounts receivable and accounts payable . This position will work closely with the existing Accountant to ensure accurate financial records, smooth transactional workflows, and efficient month-end processes. The candidate’s initial focus will be on learning our financial systems, understanding our accounting procedures, and providing consistent transactional support. Streamline Technologies, Inc. is a software development firm located in the Orlando area of Central Florida specializing in water resources engineering applications. Our philosophy and reputation are built on providing innovative software solutions such as the widely used hydrodynamic stormwater model, StormWise (formerly Icpr4 ® ). Our stormwater and flood forecasting models include complex mathematical models that simulate the rainfall-runoff process, drainage systems, flooding and flood forecasting, groundwater flow, water quality impacts, and green stormwater infrastructure. #Li-onsite

Requirements

  • 1- 3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounts receivable, accounts payable, or related accounting support role
  • P roven experience with QuickBooks (Sage or NetSuite) ERP system/software and an in-depth understanding of accounting principles.
  • Substantial understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work independently, multitask, and know when to seek management’s guidance.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify trends.
  • Comfortable speaking to others via phone, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.

  • Previous work with government customers or with a government agency a plus

Responsibilities

  • Processing and entering daily financial transactions into the accounting system
  • Assisting with routine journal entries and general ledger maintenance
  • Logging customer receipts and payment details into project management software
  • Preparing and sending customer invoices based on project manager inputs
  • Communicating with customers regarding routine invoice questions and aging A/R
  • Recording incoming payments and maintaining accurate A/R schedules
  • Processing vendor bills, obtaining approvals, and maintaining vendor records
  • Assisting with weekly A/P processing and preparing payment batches
  • Communicating with vendors to resolve billing discrepancies
  • Supporting monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Helping maintain electronic financial records and documentation
  • Assisting in producing internal accounting reports as requested
  • Providing support during audits by gathering requested documentation
  • I dentifying opportunities to streamline accounting processes
  • Support customer operations by answering incoming calls, preparing customer invoices, and responding to routine customer requests
