About The Position

Responsible for ensuring the day-to-day accounting functions are completed in accordance with standard procedures, performing many of these functions using the credit union’s mainframe computer system. Work is performed under the direction of the Accounting Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related business field required.
  • Working knowledge of organization policies/procedures and credit union’s service philosophy.
  • Must be detail oriented, and possess excellent organizational, research and problem-solving skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must perform work accurately, quickly and with high dependability.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire copy requests from branches and departments.
  • Supply all inventory stock requests for branches and departments
  • Follow-up on all outstanding check issues and take necessary steps to clear up the items (i.e. contacting branches for voided checks, etc.)
  • Balance General Ledger accounts relating to cashier’s checks and money orders, which include both issued and voided checks.
  • Manage Quick Books accounting, reporting, reconciling, EOM entries.
  • Prepare all checks and wire transfers for closings as requested by the Real Estate or Mortgage Department.
  • Quarterly meeting preparation, taking minutes, and compilation.
  • Prepare and post daily general ledger entries.
  • Review, correct, and update any outstanding differences.

  • Manage and maintain portfolio of assigned reconciliations
  • Retaining clear and accurate reporting of outstanding items ensuring none exceed 90 days.
  • Must be adept in spreadsheet software and other accounting computer systems.
  • Serves as backup for departmental staff.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Management as needed in the department.
