About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Battery Storage Accountant to join Sungrow’s finance team. This role will focus on managing financial accuracy, invoicing, reconciliations, and contract compliance within our growing battery storage business unit. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in contract-based accounting, revenue recognition under ASC 606, and customer invoicing. This position plays a key role in ensuring alignment between accounting, project management, and commercial teams, while maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, energy, or contract/project-based accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and revenue recognition standards (ASC 606 required).
  • Proficiency in SAP or other ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and reconciliations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to present financial data to management.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments and with external auditors.
  • Fluency in Mandarin (written and verbal) a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage reconciliations for all battery storage contracts to ensure accurate reporting of costs, revenues, and alignment with customer purchase orders.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation, verification, and processing of invoices in accordance with contract terms, resolving discrepancies in collaboration with project managers.
  • Support the month-end close process by ensuring invoices and revenue are properly recorded under ASC 606 standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to track invoice reporting, improve accounts receivable (AR), and enhance financial outcomes for projects.
  • Assist in preparation for annual audits by reconciling accounts, addressing discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Review contracts and purchase orders from an accounting perspective to ensure revenue recognition accuracy and contractual compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline invoicing, reconciliation, and reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy across accounting functions.
  • Support other accounting duties as required, ensuring operational flexibility and adherence to high-quality financial management practices.
