About The Position

Accountant/Financial Analyst – The Auto Club Group. Prepares financial related analyses and research to support and facilitate timely management decisions and/or financial reports or statements. Performs tasks necessary to ensure data integrity within the financial systems. Analyzes and evaluates financial impact of various decisions or transactions on financial results. Interacts with other departments and management to provide timely follow-up to inquiries and requests for financial data. Interprets results and proves recommendations for appropriate action plans. Develops and maintains complex financial models. Prepares and presents written and oral reports/documents. Provides support for internal and external auditors by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries and implementing recommended changes. Coordinates, tests and documents system changes or upgrades. Represents finance on corporate teams and initiatives. Develops and maintains job documentation and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • Experience in preparing financial reports.
  • Experience using automated accounting and/or management reporting systems.
  • Experience in preparing, analyzing and interpreting financial data.
  • Ability to use and develop workpapers, schedules, models using spreadsheet software such as Excel.
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to research and analyze complex financial data.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to organize and plan work independently.
  • Ability to participate on project teams.
  • Willingness to work irregular or extended hours as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in insurance and/or reinsurance accounting or financial analysis.
  • Ability to interpret insurance and reinsurance contracts.
  • Experience in developing/implementing business simulation/models.
  • Experience in preparing month end journal entries.
  • Experience in reconciling Carrier cash deposits with commissions statements.
  • Experience in analysis of product profitability, pricing and other mathematical analysis.
  • Experience in preparing cost benefit analysis.
  • Experience in preparing bank deposits for Carrier commission checks.
  • Experience with Peoplesoft, Workday and Sagitta systems.
