About The Position

As an Accountant, Corporate Accounting at Centrus Energy, you’ll play a key role in keeping the company’s financial operations accurate, organized, and running smoothly. Working in a dynamic and highly regulated industry, you’ll help ensure financial records reflect the real story behind the business while supporting the reporting, analysis, and controls that keep everything on track. You’ll support the day-to-day accounting operations that keep Centrus’ financial engine running. This includes preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, assisting with monthly and quarterly close activities, and analyzing financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP. You’ll help maintain general ledger integrity, support internal controls and SOX compliance efforts, and collaborate with finance and operational teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes. You may also assist with audit requests, financial reporting support, and documentation that ensures our accounting practices remain clear, consistent, and audit-ready.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP principles.
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and financial close processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA certification or progress toward certification.
  • Experience working in a publicly traded or regulated industry environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle Fusion Cloud.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
