The Accountant - Construction Accounting at Invenergy will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of development accounting. This includes project cost tracking and reporting, processing accounts payable for projects, and overseeing construction draw processing. The Accountant will also be responsible for leading cash planning meetings for development pipeline projects and preparing various financial and tax supporting schedules. This position requires a self-starter who is well-organized, possesses excellent computer skills, and is capable of multi-tasking while embracing new challenges and opportunities. In addition to the core responsibilities, the Construction Accountant will support the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statement schedules, compile footnotes for annual reports, respond to miscellaneous financial reporting requests, and assist with annual audits. The role demands regular interaction with Project Managers, Development, Finance, and Treasury teams to discuss various job-related topics, including insurance and contract agreements. Maintaining compliance with project debt and equity agreements is also a key responsibility, along with coordinating project treasury, banking, and cash flow analysis. The Accountant will take ownership of project issues in collaboration with asset managers, project managers, and finance professionals, while also developing and maintaining relationships with key partners such as banks and title companies to support and grow the business. The role will involve preparing special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, ensuring that all accounting operations are accurate and compliant with established standards.
