About The Position

Under direct supervision, responsible for performing basic and routine accounting tasks involved in the preparation of accounting entries, financial statements, and reports as instructed. Prepares monthly financial reports and reviews information with department leadership.

Requirements

Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to be dependable and flexible in order to meet deadlines.
Proficiency in applicable software programs including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Assembles data from books of original entry and controlling records, and prepares financial statements and reports pertaining to institutional activities.
Utilizes resources and systems to input, retrieve or display accounting information.
Performs reconciliation of institutional general ledger records to subsidiary records and state reports.
Documents and prepares monthly reconciliation of departmental budget for leadership review.
Conducts special studies as assigned and develops or recommends accounting methods and procedures.
Prepares income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements and other various accounting statements and reports.
Analyzes financial reports and records, making studies or recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets and expenditures.
Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.
Assists in the processing and reconciliation of specific reports and processing of payments.
Coordinates with specific department in resolving personnel reporting issues and assists in the preparation of adjusting, closing entries and monthly/annual financial reports.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
