About The Position

The Entry-Level Accountant will support financial operations by managing large data files, processing transactions, and assisting with asset management tasks. This role involves data reconciliation, file loading, check printing and shipping, and financial recordkeeping related to real estate auctions. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a foundational understanding of accounting principles. They will work closely with finance, operations, and asset management teams to ensure accurate processing and reporting of auction-related transactions.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work Hybrid work schedule - Tuesdays/Wednesday with ability to go to office when needed for checks.
  • Intermediate MS Excel experience - previous experience with large data files - assessment required as part of interview.
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in accounting.
  • Workday experience a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail and focus on accuracy.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.

Responsibilities

  • Load, review, and validate large financial data files related to real estate assets and auction transactions.
  • Reconcile financial records, ensuring accuracy in asset management transactions.
  • Assist in identifying discrepancies and resolving data inconsistencies between systems.
  • Prepare and process check printing and shipping for disbursements related to auction proceeds, refunds, and vendor payments.
  • Verify payment details and maintain accurate financial records for audits and compliance.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely distribution of payments and financial documents.
  • Assist in tracking, updating, and managing real estate asset financials, including property acquisitions, sales, and auction transactions.
  • Maintain documentation related to auction proceeds, escrow accounts, and financial settlements.
  • Support accounting functions related to asset valuation and financial reporting.
  • Perform basic journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing support.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and audit requirements.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and statements related to real estate assets and auction transactions.
  • Work closely with finance, operations, and asset management teams to streamline financial processes.
  • Suggest and implement efficiency improvements in data processing, check disbursement, and asset tracking.
  • Provide support during audits, ensuring all financial documentation is accurate and accessible.
