About The Position

As an Accountant 1 with BCBSWY, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy of our financial reporting. You will be responsible for cash flow management, tax compliance and treasury functions, daily and monthly account reconciliations, preparing journal entries and resolving any discrepancies that arise. You will work closely with team members to analyze financial data and identify trends, and you will support both internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation. Additionally, you will manage various financial schedules, such as prepayments, property taxes and fixed assets as well as preparing relevant portions of a quarterly insurance report.

Requirements

  • basic knowledge of accounting software
  • strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and analysis
  • good organizational and time management skills
  • the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • earned associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables and formulas

  • Experience in Workday
  • strong knowledge of GAAP, SAP, tax regulations, and banking regulations
  • earned bachelor’s degree
