About The Position

The Accountable Manager / Chief Inspector is responsible for the overall inspection system, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance of the Part 145 Repair Station. This role ensures that all maintenance activities are performed in full compliance with FAA regulations, company standards, and safety protocols. This leader has final authority for aircraft return to service, oversight of inspection processes, regulatory interface with the FAA, and continuous improvement of quality and safety systems.

Requirements

  • Current A&P License required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation management or related field; OR 7-10 years of Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection experience with a Part 135 operator
  • Expert level knowledge of FAA regulations as it pertains to aircraft maintenance
  • Advanced skills and knowledge of aircraft parts management
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office and applicable suite of products
  • Strong understanding of OSHA and company safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of safe working techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to plan and schedule maintenance work, ensuring technicians have the necessary resources, training, and support to perform their tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective leadership and team supervision abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of flight line operations, aircraft/vehicle movement, and associated hazards.
  • Advanced knowledge of aircraft tools, equipment, technical orders, and systems (e.g., engines, landing gear, flight controls).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience scaling, growing, and maintaining of over 50 aircraft is desirable.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific software tools (e.g., fl3xx, CAMP, TRAXXALL) to streamline maintenance tracking, enhance scheduling accuracy, and ensure efficient fleet management.
  • Some travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aircraft inspections performed under the Part 145 certificate.
  • Ensure maintenance work is completed in accordance with approved data and regulatory requirements.
  • Exercise authority for aircraft and article return to service.
  • Verify work quality, completeness, and documentation accuracy prior to RTS authorization.
  • Maintain and enforce compliance with all applicable FAA regulations and Repair Station Manual (RSM) procedures.
  • Lead internal audits, surveillance programs, and corrective action initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to Continuous Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS) where applicable.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, regulatory integrity, and operational discipline.
  • Oversee all maintenance documentation, records accuracy, and retention compliance.
  • Monitor documentation error rates and implement corrective measures.
  • Ensure accurate completion of work orders, inspection forms, logbook entries, and parts traceability.
  • Supervise inspection personnel and ensure proper training and qualifications.
  • Oversee incoming inspection of parts and materials.
  • Ensure proper certification, tagging, and traceability of parts and components.
  • Drive process improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Monitor safety metrics and implement proactive safety initiatives.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for discrepancies or audit findings.
