About The Position

The Accountability Systems Support Technician plays a crucial role in coordinating computer operations and maintenance activities for the Office of Testing and Accountability. This position involves managing various testing and accountability information systems, providing technical support, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of data handling within the department. The technician will also assist in the implementation of custom applications and provide training and support to personnel using these systems.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a two-year technical school or college with coursework in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in computer operations or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Considerable knowledge of the operation of electronic computers and related peripheral equipment.
  • Working knowledge of computer programming techniques as they relate to computer operations.
  • Skill in maintaining computer and related peripheral equipment and troubleshooting problems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the NC Student Information System (Infinite Campus).
  • Familiarity with data management and reporting processes in educational settings.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and manipulate data in testing and accountability systems for the Office of Testing and Accountability.
  • Assist in troubleshooting computer problems and malfunctions.
  • Develop and maintain system applications for the Office of Testing and Accountability.
  • Document procedures and communicate with program users to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide support to personnel utilizing various computer systems in the department.
  • Prepare written instructions to guide personnel in operating personal computers within specialized accountability programs.
  • Provide user support on specialized school, office suite, and other database systems.
  • Install system upgrades and provide basic technical support to users and operators.
  • Order, organize, and distribute testing materials in collaboration with School Testing Coordinators.
  • Assist with required files/documentation for Accountability and ensure timely submission of testing plans.
