About The Position

The Account Technician II position at the Central Management Services (CMS) Division of Vehicles Central Garage involves performing technical accounting work, including the auditing, processing, and approval of invoices for payment. The role supports the Central Garage Supervisor in preparing obligation documents and requires independent management of a complex set of general account books for the State Garage Revolving Fund. Requirements

  • Completion of two years of college and one year of technical accounting experience, or four years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.
  • Knowledge of standard accounting software applications such as Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet applications.
  • Experience applying established accounting methods and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of state and/or non-state accounting procedures.
  • Experience with office methods and procedures.
  • Experience operating commonly used manual and automated office equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, audit, review for accuracy, process, and approve invoices for payment.
  • Assist the Central Garage Supervisor in the preparation of obligation documents.
  • Independently perform technical accounting work for the State Garage Revolving Fund.
  • Perform purchasing and support functions for the Division of Vehicles.
  • Answer technical questions from vendors regarding billing procedures.
  • Serve as receptionist, receiving and routing incoming calls and providing customer service.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
