About The Position

The Account Sales Manager Intern position at SpartanNash is a paid, full-time summer internship designed for active students interested in the grocery industry. This role provides exposure to real-world problem-solving and opportunities for social and educational engagement with peers. Interns will assist Account Sales Managers, develop selling tools, and participate in strategic projects, all while gaining valuable experience in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Management (Preferred) or Marketing
  • Active student through the summer
  • Graduate December 2025 or later
  • Willing to attend mandatory in-person events in Grand Rapids, Michigan
  • GPA of 3.0 or greater (Preferred)
  • Relevant work experience such as a prior internship or campus experience (Preferred)
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Required)
  • Selling skills (Required)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations
  • Resilience to overcome obstacles
  • Driven with a bias for action
  • Highly collaborative

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship or campus experience
  • GPA of 3.0 or greater

Responsibilities

  • Attend sales calls with the Account Sales Managers to their Retailers
  • Assist in projects within the Independent Retailers Stores with the ASM
  • Develop selling tools for the Account Sales Managers
  • Work on generating higher OwnBrands sales into our Independent Retailers
  • Run Salesforce reporting for the Director of Sales
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to its objectives
  • Complete or participate in at least one strategic project (Capstone Project) during the internship and possibly present to the executive team
  • Participate in learning opportunities including warehouse and retail store tours, and community service events
  • Attend weekly professional development workshops for skill development and team building
