The Account Representative serves as the primary contact between Ansys and customers in an assigned territory or set of named accounts or product/service line. This role is crucial for maintaining existing customer accounts while also working to create new ones. A successful Account Representative maximizes sales profitability, growth, and account penetration. The representative performs sales activities, establishes, develops, and maintains business relationships with current and/or prospective customers to maintain renewal business and generate new business for an assigned geographic area, set of named accounts, or product/service line to achieve or exceed revenue objectives. The Account Representative sells products and services through telephone as well as face-to-face contact. They uncover customers' pain points, negative consequences, and desired positive business outcomes to identify the best solution. The representative clearly presents the value of the company's products and services through metrics and proof points while tying to the customer's needs and differentiating from the competition. They create and maintain account plans for existing customers highlighting profile, share, and value opportunities. Additionally, the representative researches sources for developing prospective customers or expanding to new groups in existing customers and for information to determine their potential. The role also involves developing clear and effective written proposals and quotations for current and prospective customers, coordinating sales efforts with marketing, account teams, sales management, accounting, legal, and technical services groups. The Account Representative provides accurate forecasts for new sales and renewal revenues and participates in trade shows and conventions, scheduling training and seminars to enhance new business opportunities. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering, business, or related field with at least 1 year of experience in technical sales positions or 5+ years of demonstrated success in technical sales positions. Excellent communication and organizational skills, along with the ability to work independently, are essential for success in this role.
