About The Position

As an Account Representative, you will play a crucial role in managing and nurturing relationships with a diverse portfolio of small and mid-sized accounts. You will be responsible for driving retention, ensuring customer satisfaction, and identifying opportunities for growth within your assigned book of business. The ideal candidate will leverage strong sales skills for negotiating price increases, contract renewals, service changes, and other sales-related activities. This position reports to the Account Representative Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required; equivalent work experience and skills will also be considered.
  • Proven experience in account management, customer service, or sales roles, preferably in the waste management or environmental services industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with customers.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful price negotiations and contract renewals.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of waste management regulations, industry standards, and best practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of up to 1,000 small and mid-sized accounts, serving as the primary point of contact for all account-related inquiries.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for upselling additional services or recommending tailored solutions to meet evolving customer needs.
  • Employ strong sales skills to negotiate price increases, contract renewals, service enhancements, and other sales-related activities.
  • Utilize effective sales techniques to overcome objections and address customer concerns, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Foster strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including operations and customer service, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Identify opportunities for account expansion and growth by upselling additional services.
  • Monitor account performance metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Utilize CRM software and other sales tools to maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activities.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments.
