THE OPPORTUNITY: The Employee Benefits Account Representative provides critical support to our customers by performing clerical and administrative tasks for the team to support the overall retention of accounts.

Requirements

  • High School / GED
  • 1-2 years administrative experience or equivalent combination of education & experience
  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate orally and in writing with internal and external customers.
  • Desire to learn and grow within the insurance industry.
  • Ability to respond to customer needs, solicit customer feedback to improve service, and handle difficult or emotional customer situations promptly and accurately.
  • Confidence and demeanor to effectively interact with all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to efficiently gather pertinent information and facts, analyze and solve problems timely and thoroughly.
  • Computer skills: proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
  • Critical Thinking: Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains accurate and organized account files by appropriately documenting conversations with clients and carrier representatives; updates all HUB computer systems and automated agency management systems; ensures the accuracy of data.
  • Assists client with all billing issues including auditing and reconciliation.
  • Adds and maintain Splits in agency management system (Benefit Point).
  • Obtains post-enrollment numbers for each plan.
  • Orders Client ID Cards.
  • Prints open enrollment materials.
  • Prepares open enrollment packets for client meetings.
  • Prepares Annual Legal Notices.
  • Prepares Master Applications, POP, COBRA & ERISA Wraps/SPD and SMM as requested.
  • Prepares Provider Directories.
  • Requests Summaries, SBC and EOC and save in client file.
  • Reviews and scrubs New Group Employee Applications, create list of pending items for Account Manager/Account Executive.
  • Reviews employee enrollments/terminations/changes for accuracy and oversee process.
  • Communicates timely with Account Manager/Account Executive if unable to accommodate timeline due to requests from other team members.
  • Facilitates Ben Admin/HRIS System Updates (Ease, ADP, Paylocity, etc).
  • Sets-up HR Advocacy Tool, Legal Compliance Resources and Wellness value adds.
  • Makes initial request for plan renewals from carriers.
  • Gathers / prepares census data.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
