About The Position

The National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR), an affiliate of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Account Manager. NIPR is a not-for-profit technology company that provides cost-effective, streamlined, and uniform licensing data and compliance services for insurance professionals. Together with the NAIC and the insurance industry, NIPR protects and serves insurance consumers. We are a licensing and compliance resource for insurance professionals, providing expertise, agile technical solutions, innovative tools, and data to support the changing needs of state regulators and the insurance industry. NIPR is based in Kansas City, Missouri. This is a full-time position which will allow a person to work remotely within the United States or hybrid in NIPR’s physical office space in Kansas City, MO. Position Overview: The Account Manager position serves as the primary point of contact for clients, and is responsible for increasing current business, targeting and securing new business by building relationships, opening new business conversations, and driving growth. This position is key for the retention of existing clients and growth of revenue. The individual will work closely with all NIPR business areas, including but not limited to Product Management, Communications Team, UX/UI, Production Support, IT, Billing, Customer Service, Development, and QA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent training.
  • Three to five years of experience in account management, or client-facing roles.
  • Three or more years of CRM Experience, preferably Salesforce
  • Three or more years of experience using Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be highly motivated, results oriented, creative and possess strong business standards and integrity.
  • Outstanding communication and presentations skills and ability to work effectively with members and individuals at all levels is a necessity.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Sound business decision-making skills with ability to understand the “big picture” is essential.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, regulators and/or boards of directors
  • Ability to follow up with clients as needed.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with data analytics, data analytic tools and statistics preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively position the NIPR portfolio of products and services, building the growth funnel and closing opportunities that align with client needs.
  • Properly build and maintain client relations and book of business by understanding client needs, goals, and challenges and provide tailored solutions.
  • Identifies trends and business opportunities and recommend product solutions to benefit NIPR and the client.
  • Makes recommendations for expanding client usage of NIPR products.
  • Ensures the client fully understands NIPR’s products and services and documents all necessary requirements thus providing a solid foundation for successful implementation and transition to Account Coordinators.
  • Develop and execute cross functional strategies which are in line with the overall NIPR product vision and objectives to grow NIPR client base.
  • Participate in trade shows and conferences and deliver presentations as necessary.
  • Assist with pre-show preparation and develop post-show trip reports regarding actual attendance, contacts made, issues raised, etc.
  • Supports Management of Business Development to ensure company products and services are offered appropriate, competitive terms and conditions.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with company policy.
  • As appropriate, it contributes to or influences company policies.
  • Monitors transaction compliance (milestones, deliverables, invoices, etc.) and maintain accurate client records and activity in Salesforce.
