About The Position

Columbus Distributing Company is a family-owned sales and service corporation distributing Anheuser-Busch, Yuengling, craft, and imported beers in Franklin County, Ohio. This position is responsible for managing the development and fostering of relationships with on and off-premise customers. The role involves the successful sale, distribution, and retail execution of the company's entire portfolio of products and related programs, aiming for overall volume growth of accounts. The Account Manager will plan and conduct regular sales calls, execute sales plans and promotions, secure trade support, and coordinate promotional activities. Key responsibilities also include achieving monthly sales goals, developing strong customer relationships, accurately entering orders via an iPad, managing inventory to prevent out-of-stock issues, assessing product rotation for freshness, and utilizing point-of-sale materials effectively. The role requires using multiple applications for field-level surveys and flexibility to manage other assigned projects and duties.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable automobile transportation.
  • Maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Maintain auto insurance coverage at least to the minimum required by state law and company guidance.
  • Prior industry experience in the beer or wine industry.
  • Minimum of 1 year of outside sales experience.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office.
  • Experienced with operating an iPad.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have a cell phone with data capability.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the development and fostering of relationships with on and off-premise customers.
  • Responsible for the successful sale, distribution, and retail execution of the entire portfolio of products and related programs resulting in the overall volume growth of the accounts.
  • Plan and conduct regular sales calls and visits to accounts.
  • Accomplish timely and productive execution of sales plans and promotions at retail.
  • Securing trade support by communicating pricing and product promotions.
  • Coordinating the use of product displays and point-of-sale materials, promotional events, and other product promotion opportunities.
  • Achieve monthly sales goals.
  • Develop positive strong relationships with accounts.
  • Accurately and timely enter orders and ensure proper and complete transmission of those orders following established Company policies and directives via an iPad.
  • Manage accurate inventory levels to minimize out-of-stock and out-of-code issues.
  • Assess product rotation on shelf and in back room to maximize product freshness to ensure compliance with code date standards.
  • Responsible for appropriate placement and effective utilization of point-of-sale material.
  • Use multiple applications to complete necessary field-level surveys.
  • Flexibility to manage other projects and duties as assigned.
